ISSUES

Lowering the Tax Burden

This session, Jeff worked with Democrats and Republicans to provide record tax relief to Kansans across the board. We reduced income taxes for hardworking Kansas, eliminated the state tax on Social Security income, doubled the childcare tax credit and reduced property tax burdens.

Supporting Our Public Schools

Jeff was part of the team that repealed the Brownback Experiment and restored funding to our public schools. He still believes there is room for improvement, which is why he wants to fully fund special education and increase teacher pay to retain and attract top talent.

Medicaid Expansion

Jeff has been fighting for Medicaid Expansion since he first entered public office in 2017. He believes this program – which expands healthcare to over 150,000 Kansans, creates 23,000 jobs and prevents 59 rural hospitals from closing – should be passed into law.

Healthcare Privacy

In 2022, Jeff supported the campaign to stop an abortion ban in Kansas, which a vast majority of Kansans agreed with. He believes the government has no place in private healthcare decisions – and that these decisions should only be made by a woman and her doctor.

Public Safety

Jeff is a member of the Subcommittee on Corrections and Public Safety. He works closely with police officers, firefighters and correctional officers to foster a more safe and secure Kansas. Because of his exceptional record on this issue, Jeff has been endorsed by the Kansas Fraternal Order of Police and the Kansas Firefighters Association.
